Sumatran orangutan Bella, who lives in Hagenbeck Zoo, is 61 years old and, therefore, the oldest female orangutan in the world – in the wild, she would most likely have died long ago.
Fatou from Zoo Berlin is the current age record holder: there is no living gorilla in a zoo as old as she is. One reasons for this is the great care she has received.
