Prof. Dr. Guido Dehnhardt teaches sensory and cognitive ecology at the University of Rostock. Previously he taught General Zoology as a lecturer at the Ruhr-University of Bochum. Dehnhardt is the founder and director of the „Marine Science Center“ in Warnemünde, where he and his team are mainly engaged in research on seals. He is also a member of a number of well-known scientific institutions, such as the Department of Zoology of the German Research Association. As an expert he was involved in the drafting of the guidelines for mammalian husbandry in zoos (working group marine mammals) for the federal government. He was awarded the Scanbalt Bridge Award for his scientific achievements by the Baltic Development Forum.
