An intentionally cut hole prompted a female clouded leopard to venture out of her enclosure to discover her surroundings at Dallas Zoo. Nova was found close to her enclosure.
Note: The zoo posted regular updates on the incident.
We are thrilled to report we located clouded leopard Nova on-grounds at the Zoo this afternoon at approximated 4:40 p.m. She was located very near the original habitat, and teams were able to safely secure her just before 5:15 p.m. pic.twitter.com/XucvBrQO4V

The animal evidently had no motivation to venture far from her enclosure. Police officials are now investigating as they suspect that the hole was cut intentionally. The idea of “freeing” zoo animals is fundamentally wrong. There is no freedom in nature.
