What can a zoo accomplish? A great deal, as Wuppertal Zoo is doing: it has provided data for more than 800 species, which will later help to protect the species.

Note: All serious conservation work consists of research. All serious research needs data from which to draw conclusions. This data, in turn, must meet certain standards. Every day, modern zoos and aquariums ensure this, making a significant difference. This work is also an example of how husbandry can save entire species.
