Hybrids may form in nature and under human care. Slowly, we are learning more about them and also about what hybridisation has to do with evolution.
Note: Hybridisation may not contribute to conservation breeding programmes, but it can be useful to further research species and their relationships to one another. Here it is, of course, important to always ensure the animals’ well-being.
