Threatened narrow-headed garter snake gets help from the Phoenix Zoo

In parts of its area of distribution, populations of the narrow-headed garter snake are decreasing significantly. Phoenix Zoo wants to help these populations.

Note: Not only snake experts will have noticed that our cover picture for the article does not show a narrow-headed garter snake. Why? Because our sources do not include a single picture of the species. However, we did not want to give up the story just because of this. We opted for a symbolic image instead, showing a different garter snake species. As always: if you happen to have a photo of the animal, please feel free to share it with us.
