Chester Zoo has made history by becoming the first to breed the rare Coquerel’s sifaka. It is a great success in the conservation and rescue of the species.
Note: We have also featured this fascinating species on zoos.media. At Cologne Zoo, you have the opportunity to observe the species in the House of Madagascar. For many years, the zoo has placed a special focus on different lemur species, and so you can find species over there that are otherwise hard to find.
Even experienced conservationists are thrilled about the husbandry of this species.
Now, of course, we are all crossing our fingers for there to be similar successes in the other facilities keeping the species.
