Carolin Otto is not only the youngest zoo director in Germany, she also has a unique background at Eilenburg Animal Park.
Note: This is a very special story, not only because it is rather uncommon for women to lead zoological institutions. Carolin Otto calls attention to the shortage of young professionals in animal parks and other smaller companies. Yet young professionals are important – especially in management positions, as the work load is not necessarily less in smaller zoological institutions. The responsibility is not for everyone, making it all the more valuable when young people wish to take it on.
